Son charged with neglect in death of 89-year-old
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen says his office is investigating a suspicious death in Augusta.
Isolde Dipofi, 89, of 3005 Bramblewood Trail, was found at the address and pronounced dead on the scene at 3:24 p.m. Tuesday, Bowen said.
Dipofi appeared to have died several hours prior to coroner’s office being called.
An autopsy is scheduled at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation lab.
An incident report from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office states that Louis Dipofi, 63, had found his mother unresponsive at or around 3:31 p.m. and notified emergency medical services.
Deputies said Bowen requested that the sheriff’s criminal investigation division respond to the incident location.
Louis Dipofi was charged with charged with neglect to a disabled adult, elder person or resident, according to deputies.
