AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has canceled an alert to be on the lookout for a Jeep Com Trailhawk linked to the fatal drive-by shooting of a local girl.
According to authorities, the vehicle has been located.
“Honestly, I am happy. It was like a breath of fresh air to at least know that something is getting done, and progress. They can’t hide and they can’t run forever,” said Jamila McDaniel, aunt of slain 8-year-old Arbrie Anthony.

“That let me know that the Sheriff’s Office and the investigators, they meant what they said: They were going to get these guys,” she said.
Although breaks in the case won’t bring back the victim.
“My niece is smiling down. My niece is smiling down knowing that she knows that we are fighting for her and that she knows the community is behind her,” said McDaniel.
The investigation is ongoing and authorities had no further information to release at this time.
At 7:25 p.m. Saturday, Richmond County deputies responded to the 2000 block of Third Avenue in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies learned that Anthony had been shot in the front yard of a residence.
She was taken to the hospital by private vehicle, and family confirmed she ed away.
When she was shot, she was looking at some horses that someone had brought to the neighborhood. One of the horses was shot and died, as well.
Deputies believe the shooting was targeted but say the girl likely wasn’t the intended victim.
Three people have been arrested as a result of the investigation, but it’s not clear whether they are related to the case.
The Grovetown Police Department reported that at about 2:45 p.m. Monday, its officers assisted the U.S. Marshal Service and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office in a traffic stop at 5035 Wrightsboro Road in reference to the investigation.
A search of the vehicle revealed multiple firearms and several dozen financial transaction cards belonging to multiple individuals, none of whom were engers in the vehicle, police said. A large amount of U. S. currency was also found as well as narcotics and drug paraphernalia, police said.
Investigators with the Grovetown Police Department said they secured arrest warrants Tuesday for:
- Antoine Rodrigues Redfield, 21, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
- Devonte Juanye McNeil, 25, financial transaction card theft.
- Henri Ramone Beach, 20, financial transaction card theft.
Additional firearms and narcotics related charges are forthcoming, police said, adding that these charges only arose as a result of the traffic stop itself.
