Suspect arrested in Columbia County fatal hit-and-run

EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A suspect is in custody after a Columbia County hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian, according to authorities.
The crash on Columbia Industrial Boulevard happened sometime around 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The pedestrian’s family hasn’t been notified, so the person’s name is not being released.
Authorities said Wednesday that Michael Kilgore, 58, is now in custody. According to inmate bookings, he is charged with first-degree homicide by vehicle and failure to appear.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office had earlier asked the public to be on the lookout for a possible 1990s two-door white Ford F150 that was pulling a black trailer.
