Student faces charges over threat at Grovetown Middle School
GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A Grovetown Middle School student is facing charges after making threats to another student, school officials say.
According to Grovetown Middle School, istration and Columbia County School District Police were notified of an incident in a classroom.
Upon investigation, istration found that a student made verbal threats of violence towards another student in the class, and then approached the student with scissors in a threatening manner, officials say.
The school district says “There was no physical and the incident was de-escalated without injury or further incident.”
The student has been criminally charged and will be held able according to the code of conduct, the school says.
The incident did not interrupt the overall school day.
