2 Richmond County schools report weapons found on campus
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Two different Richmond County schools are reporting that weapons were found on campus, according to letters sent home to parents.
On Thursday, a Meadowbrook Elementary School student brought a knife to school and showed it to their classmate. Students reported the knife to their teacher, who took the item and reported it to the istration.
A student also brought a knife to Hephzibah Middle School on Wednesday. Both schools ask families to speak to their students on the importance of school safety.
School officials say the incidents will be addressed based on the Richmond County Board of Education Code of Student Conduct and Discipline.
Also on Thursday, Davidson Fine Arts was on lockdown following a threat made against the school.
