One-Tank Trip: If you like game shows, give this a spin
LEXINGTON, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - If you are a fan of game shows, this is for you.
You can play and pretend like you are on an actual show.
Our Will Volk took on The Game Show Challenge for this week’s One-Tank Trip.
“It’s something unique. It’s something we’ve seen a lot of success with, and are continuing to grow,” said host, creator and owner Josh Brickey.
He first brought The Game Show Challenge to life near Columbia four years ago.

Newly painted murals will be officially “unveiled” at the mural ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, but the work is going on right now – and you can watch.

Since then, the idea has taken off with a new location in Texas and more on the way.
“We want people to feel like you really are on a game show, so we have professional lighting and sound. We even have laugh tracks and different tracks in the background. It’s all being produced live and in person,” Brickey said.
“Hey, everybody, and welcome to The Game Show Challenge! Are you all excited to be here today?” said Brickey.
“Yeah!” Volk replied.
MORE ONE-TANK TRIPS:
- Immerse yourself in the world of college football
- This Georgia gas station has unique backyard
- Visit the first Waffle House, right here in Georgia
- Take a roller-coaster ride down a mountain
- Pan for gold in a real Georgia gold mine
- Have some big fun with small trains
“Yes, indeed, I think you can do a little bit better than that, Will,” Brickey said.
“Yeah!!!!” Volk shouted.
“There we go. Will is excited to be here,” said Brickey.
Volk tried a “Shake It Off” challenge, with a box of ping pong balls attached to his backside. He needed to shake to try to get the balls out of a small opening.
“You’ve gotta shake that, Will – come on now, come on,” Brickey said.
“I can’t twerk like that,” Volk said.
“He’s not a twerker, ladies and gentlemen,” Brickey told the imaginary audience.

In less than two weeks, the South Carolina Aquarium has received seven new sick or injured sea turtle patients requiring medical attention.

Volk got the full experience, trying several different games inspired by popular shows you would see on TV.
His clue for “Survey Says”: “Game shows are always giving away tropical vacations to _______.”
Volk started singing the song “Kokomo” by The Beach Boys. “Aruba, Jamaica, Ooh, I wanna take ya,” he sang.
“‘I wanna take ya’ is not up there,” said Brickey.
Volk also had some fun with “Spin to Win,” where his clue was “Great Endings.”
He solved the puzzle with “Will Volk – On Your Side,” which he ends every one of his stories with.
If you’re interested in going, you do need to set up a session ahead of time.
Brickey thinks bringing a group makes it a better experience.
