Good Girl Brewing Company opens new location in Aiken
AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Craft beer, good food and room for your furry friends are what you’ll find at Good Girl Brewing Company.
You can find the new brewing company in Aiken on Banks Mill Road.
The owners say it’s all been in the works for more than five years.
“COVID threw us multiple curve balls. Just some of the significant ones were construction material price fluctuations,” said owner Andrew Phifer.
Now, they’re the only brewery in Aiken County and a full-service restaurant too.
Owner Margaret Warren said: “One of our signature dishes is our good girl pimento cheese. It’s filled with lots of fresh onions, nuts and peppers. It’s just a more flavorful pimento cheese than you’ll find anywhere.”
It’s all a part of a vision inspired by the family’s late furry friend, Kate.
Owner Rachel Phifer said: “Dogs are just so great about loving life and being there for you and ing you. It’s like you think of everything that’s good. A good girl really embodies that, so we named it. Memorialize it after came to our good girl.”
After the closing of Aiken Brewing Company, they say they’re happy to bring back what Aiken has been missing: good food and a variety of beer.
“We’ve had the ownership team and some of the staff and many of the patrons from Aiken Brewing Company come in all ready to celebrate with us. So I don’t know that we’ll ever be able to replace the legacy of Aiken Brewing Company, but we’re hoping to fill the hole that’s been left by their absence,” said Andrew.
You can find out more about the new brewery on their Facebook page.
