South Carolina teens’ joyride in turkey house kills 200 birds, cops say
SUMTER, S.C. (WIS) - Officials said three teenagers itted to driving ATVs on a man’s property in Sumter County, damaging his crops and causing more than 200 turkeys to die.
Deputies said they were called to a home in east Sumter County on Monday to respond to the report of a civil dispute.

Neighbors are reeling from news that a 6-year-old girl has died in Orangeburg County after what officials are calling an accidental shooting.

According to Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, the land owner told a deputy he asked the teens to leave the property before finding the doors to a turkey house open and ATV and motorcycle tracks inside.

Deputies said the turkeys “appeared to have trampled one another out of fear.”
Authorities said crops were also apparently damaged by the teens.

After the three teens were held and read their Miranda rights, the sheriff’s office said the teens itted to driving the vehicles on the property and inside the turkey house.
The case has been sent to family court, according to the sheriff’s office.
