67-year-old dies after crash at Peach Orchard, Tobacco roads

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A 67-year-old died several days after a crash on Peach Orchard Road, the Richmond County Coroner’s Office announced Thursday.
Coroner Mark Bowen responded to Wellstar/MCG hospital in reference to a death from a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Aug. 10.
The crash occurred on Peach Orchard Road and Tobacco Road, Bowen says.
John Thomas, of Augusta, was transported by EMS to Wellstar/MCG where he succumbed to his injuries, according to Bowen.
Bowen says Thomas was pronounced dead on Tuesday at 7:08 p.m.
At the same intersection just five days before, emergency medical crews were called to the scene for another accident.
