Sheriff Scott Chitwood said investigators believe the shooting stems from others coming from Rome to meet two of those killed at the park “for the purpose of obtaining contraband.”

“Evidence also suggests that both parties arrived at the location with firearms,” Chitwood said in a statement. “As a result of this encounter between the two parties, gunshots were exchanged between the subjects.”
