Fire at McKinney Tire sends huge plume of smoke into sky

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A tire shop caught fire Wednesday afternoon in Aiken.
The initial call came in at 2:01 p.m. from the fire at McKinney Tire, located at 856 York St. Northeast.
Upon arrival, Aiken Department of Public Safety found heavy black smoke coming from the roof and the rest of the building.
Officers say the fire department immediately started to put the fire out. Around 4 p.m., firefighters were still working to put it out.
Officers say EMS responded to the scene and one person was transported to a local hospital.
Their condition is known at this time.
