If you were affected by Hurricane Helene, FEMA urges you to apply for disaster assistance without hesitation, as it will not affect other federal benefits you may receive.

The money will be used to establish and expand local programs that help individuals struggling with their mental health or substance use.
“I hear consistently from local leaders, health leaders, and faith leaders across the state about the need for a stronger safety net for mental health as well as investment in substance abuse prevention and treatment,” said Ossoff, D-Ga. “I’m pleased to announce that with bipartisan from Republicans and Democrats, I’ve helped secure supplemental investments coming to Georgia to mental health and substance abuse treatment.”
