About a dozen TGI Fridays locations closed in past month, reports say

(Gray News) - Casual dining chain TGI Fridays has closed about a dozen locations across the country in the past month, according to media reports.
The closures were reported by Restaurant Business, Fox Business and Metro.
Closures were in cities mostly in the Midwest, East and South.
TGI Fridays hadn’t responded to a request for comment.
Locations shuttered, according to media reports, include:
- Connecticut: Enfield
- Indiana: Schererville
- Michigan: Saginaw Township
- Minnesota: Edina and St. Louis Park
- New York: Clifton Park, Middletown, and Poughkeepsie
- North Carolina: Charlotte
- Pennsylvania: Allenton
- South Carolina: Charleston
- Virginia: Leesburg
- Wisconsin: Grand Chute
The restaurant chain, which has been in business for more the 50 years, includes 213 locations in the U.S. and about 500 locations in other countries.
TGI Fridays also shuttered about 30 locations in the United Kingdom, according to Fox Business.
The chain has undergone turbulence in recent years, including changing CEOs three times in 2023.
It recently lost control of much of its business functions through a manager termination event because of TGI Fridays' “failure to furnish a report of the independent auditors or back-up manager summarizing the findings of certain agreed-upon procedures within a certain time period,” credit rating agency KBRA reported.
