Black Friday sales bring hundreds of shoppers to local stores
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Shoppers in the CSRA hit the stores early to get their Christmas shopping done on Black Friday.
Stores, like Bass Pro Shops, gained lines of shoppers at the crack of dawn.
Shop until you drop.
“We’re up and ready to go, coffee in hand. And the fact they have coffee out there is amazing,” said shopper Karey Morrison.
With less than a month until Christmas, shoppers are making sure they’re prepared for the holiday.
“I was going to see about getting my little boy Power Wheels for Christmas,” said Jerry Copeland, who drove an hour to shop.

Now that Thanksgiving is over, Augusta shoppers are hopping on deals early for Black Friday.

More than 250 people lined up outside of Bass Pro Shops before they opened. Some were even getting there at 11 p.m. on Thanksgiving night.
Some shoppers we spoke with say these deals were just too good to miss.
“They’ve got fantastic prices here and this is where we normally come to do any buying and hunting gear stuff,” said another shopper, Gary Williams.
Others knew exactly what they were looking for.
“So, the smoker was on sale. I’ve always wanted one. And with the way the economy is now, and the prices are so high, it’s probably the only time I can get one for a decent price,” said Morrison.
And several shoppers made a haul to score the best deals.
Aiken County shelter dogs get a special Thanksgiving treat
Aiken County Animal Shelter dogs got a special Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, thanks to Friends of the Animal Shelter volunteers.

“We left it at about 5 minutes after four and drove. We’re from down next to Thomson, Georgia and we come in up there and there was a nice long line,” said Williams.
“Probably head back sometime this afternoon and we’ll head back. We’re from Sandersville. About an hour ride,” said Copeland.
They all say the shopping wasn’t ending with just one store.
“We’re going to hit quite a few other stores around while Black Friday’s going,” said Williams.
“We’re going to Mullins Crossing with the Target and Five Below. Then we’re going to the mall because they have Jenney. We’re deal shopping right now,” said Morrison.
Now, shoppers can kick back and enjoy the holidays, knowing the heavy lifting is already done.
