Name released for man who escaped arrest twice in Lincoln County
LINCOLNTON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - We now know the name of the suspect who escaped arrested twice in Lincoln County Tuesday evening.
Evan Callaway Buller, 45, is wanted for felony charges, according to Lincoln County Major Jim Wallen.
They say he is considered armed and dangerous and to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 706-359-4118 if you have any information.
Officials told us they responded to Chamberlain Ferry Road about a domestic abuse call.
When deputies arrived the suspect fled into the woods, escaping arrest, Wallen says. Deputies then searched the home and found drugs, and a fully loaded AK-47 with seven magazines.
Wallen told us after deputies left, the suspect returned to the home. Deputies along with the Columbia County SWAT team surrounded the house.
The suspect was able to flee again and escape arrest, according to Wallen.

Officials have identified a man who was shot dead Tuesday in Augusta, the latest victim in a more than two-year outbreak of crime that’s claimed more than 180 lives.

Wallen says the suspect did move the vehicle before fleeing the second time, and deputies found meth in the vehicle.
The suspect is still wanted, Wallen says. We are waiting to hear back about the suspect.
Several News 12 viewers initially reported a large law enforcement scene in Lincoln County Tuesday evening.
We’ve also reached out to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office to confirm reports of Columbia County deputies executing a search warrant.
At 7:32 p.m. on Tuesday, a spokesperson with the sheriff’s office says " I don’t have any details for now.”
