Orangeburg County police chase ends in deadly crash
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WCSC) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol says one person died and a second was injured in a crash that followed a police chase in Orangeburg County, we learned on Monday.
The crash happened on Charleston Highway near Joe S. Jeffords Road at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Lance l. Lena Butler said.
Troopers say a Dodge Charger was traveling north on Charleston Highway when it went off the road and struck a signpost.
Accident shuts down eastbound lanes on Wrightsboro Road
Richmond County deputies were at the scene of a car accident just after 10 p.m. near Roger Bagby Auto Services Sunday night.

The driver was airlifted to Prisma Hospital and EMS took the enger to the same hospital where the enger later died from their injuries, Butler said.
Orangeburg Department of Public Safety Capt. Victor Cordon says officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle when it took off.
The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the victim.
The Highway Patrol is investigating. Cordon said he expected the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division would also investigate the incident.
40-year-old man killed in Washington County crash
After a fatal single-vehicle crash in Washington County, the coroner has identified the victim.

Last week, a driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Lodge Hall in Orangeburg County.
Troopers said they responded to the scene on Lodge Hall Street near Lonnie Lane the week before, around 6:55 p.m.
