N.C. McDonald’s worker accused of killing DoorDash driver

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) - A McDonald’s employee has been arrested after he allegedly shot and killed a DoorDash driver in North Carolina the day after Christmas.

According to records, 25-year-old Kevin Holland was booked into the Cumberland County Detention Center on Friday, a day after he was accused of killing Samori Husamudeen at a McDonald’s in Fayetteville.

A man has been arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder in a 2023 shooting death and the wounding of another, according to the Barnwell County Sheriff’s Office.

CBS WNCN reported that Husamudeen was a DoorDash driver and got into an argument with Holland inside the restaurant before Holland allegedly shot and killed him.

Court records show that Holland was charged with first-degree murder and was denied bond by a magistrate.

After a day on the run, Fayetteville police said Holland was found at a Walmart in nearby Spring Lake, which is about 15 minutes from the McDonald’s on Santa Fe Drive.

Following the shooting, the owner of the McDonald’s told WNCN that the restaurant is “fully cooperating” with law enforcement, and ed its employees with counseling resources.
