Where and when former President Jimmy Carter will be buried

PLAINS, Ga. - Former President Jimmy Carter died on Sunday, Dec. 29 at his home in Plains at the age of 100.
Before a formal burial, Carter will lie in repose in Atlanta and lie in state in Washington, D.C.
Here’s the official schedule:
The 39th president of the United States will be laid to rest next to his wife at the same place where he grew up and ran a peanut farm in Plains – a tiny town in south Georgia about 150 miles from Atlanta.
A private funeral service at the home will be held at a date to be determined.
The two apparently chose the plot years ago. They were married for 77 years.
