LAS VEGAS (KVVU/Gray News) - Remains found in a desert could be those of a missing Arizona teenager who left home following a family dispute.

According to police, the remains were discovered and reported around 10:42 a.m. in the desert area of Desert Sunflower Circle and Spanish Needle Street.

Officials noted that the remains matched the description of 17-year-old Jennaleah Reyes Hin.

An initial investigation found that there are no apparent signs of foul play. However, it’s still in the early stages of the investigation.

Hin was reported missing on Dec. 30., after she walked away from her home following a family dispute.

Red Rock Search and Rescue Commander Mark Speer said the search in the area began Thursday at noon after Hin was captured on neighborhood cameras walking toward the desert.

A dog picked up her scent over a ridge south of a nearby housing development.

Henderson Police Lt. Jim Dunlap said they’ve received a number of possible sightings of Hin, and that detectives are following up on every lead that comes in.

He said they’re also analyzing video from neighborhood cameras to determine if Hin was ever captured exiting the desert.
