Former Atlanta mayor, envoy Andrew Young released from hospital

Civil rights champion Andrew Young, who also formerly served as Atlanta’s mayor and a United Nations ambassador, has been hospitalized.

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Civil rights champion Andrew Young, who also formerly served as Atlanta’s mayor and a United Nations ambassador, has been released from the hospital, according to a source close to his family.

Young was itted to Grady Memorial Hospital on Friday as a precaution because of light chest pains. He was released Saturday, the source close to his family told Atlanta News First.

The 92-year-old former ambassador has been very busy lately, doing multiple interviews and delivering the homily at former President Jimmy Carter’s state funeral in Washington, D.C.
