Columbia County DA will maintain position during military service call
EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Columbia County District Attorney Bobby L. Christine, a Major General in the U.S. Army National Guard, will maintain his position during his military service call.
Christine received notice that he is being called to military service starting Saturday.
As spelled out in a letter provided to the Columbia County Board of Commissioners, Christine will be posted to Washington, D.C., for Temporary Duty, but will maintain his civilian position as District Attorney as provided by federal and state law.
Gov. Kemp announces new executive counsel and legal staff
Governor Brian P. Kemp announced changes to his legal staff, and a new executive counsel on Tuesday.

Day to day operations of the DA’s office will be managed by the office’s leadership team in consultation with Christine.
“Since the age 17 it has been my honor to serve my state and country in the Army National Guard, and I also am honored to service Columbia County as its District Attorney,” Christine said. “I have absolute confidence in the abilities and professionalism of the leadership team in the District Attorney’s Office. In consultation with me they will carry on the duties of the office without interruption and in accordance with the high standards expected by the citizens of Columbia County.”
Christine has served as Columbia County’s first District Attorney since 2021.
