A voicemail blamed on Michael Lee Gaskins is so full of profanity and vulgar suggestions, we were only able to print six words of it.

The outbreak has affected cities large and small on both sides of the Savannah River, and the Crosland Park neighborhood has not been spared.
In 2022, police even met with residents of the neighborhood who were concerned about the crime there.
For example:
- On Dec. 5, a woman was injured in a shooting at Hahn Street and Schroder Avenue. The victim stated she was coming off a street that connects to Crosland Park and was hit by a bullet.
- On May 3, 2022, homes were damaged by gunfire at 676 Aldrich St. and 1316 Aldrich St. in Crosland Park. No injuries were reported, although a man was killed in an Aiken shooting on the same night.
- An August 2021 shooting fatally injured Earnest S. Croft, 31, in the 1200 block of Aldrich Street. He died later at a hospital.
- On April 8, 2021, several vehicles were struck by gunfire. Two men were ultimately arrested in connection with the gunfire.
