South Carolina burning ban lifted except for 2 counties

The wildfire threat has declined for at least most of South Carolina, leading to the removal of burning restrictions.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The South Carolina Forestry Commission has lifted a statewide burn ban for all counties except for Horry and Georgetown.

The burn ban was issued on Saturday for all counties. This included all outdoor burning, including yard debris burning, prescribed burning, and campfires in all unincorporated areas of the state.

Officials said the ban will stay in effect for Horry and Georgetown countie until an official announcement from the Forestry Commission.
