in less than 2 weeks, ground will be broken on a tiny home village to house youths aging out of the foster care system.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - In less than two weeks, the groundbreaking for a local tiny home village in Augusta will happen.

Bridge Builder Communities, Bill Beazley Homes, Ivey Homes, and R.W. Allen are bringing 25 tiny homes to Augusta.

They will house foster youth who have aged out of the system and need a place to go.

Ivey Homes has ed the effort to build a tiny home village to house foster youths who have aged out of the system and need a place to go.

Jackson Drumgoole, the founder and executive director of Bridge Builder Communities, says the houses “provide life skills training, safe, affordable housing, workforce initiatives, education initiatives and a family that these young adults never had before.”

The groundbreaking is on March 19 at 10:30 a.m. at 1140 Merry Street.
