AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office added flock cameras to the county recently.

The addition has given the agency new ways to fight crime faster and coordinate with other counties.

“A lot of times when we get called out and investigators are on the scene we have just minimum information,” says Sergeant Jared Land with the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office. “Road patrol deputies can get in their cars and their MDTs start typing away, start already trying to solve that piece. If somebody gives us a possible description, well, ‘I saw a black Dodge Challenger come down here then I heard a shot fired,’ that’s really essential for helping us and helping us solve these crimes.”

Officials said that even though criminals will work to get around the flock cameras, they are confident those criminals will be caught in the end.
