Golden Harvest Food Bank issues a call for volunteers

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Golden Harvest Food Bank says volunteers are urgently needed to ongoing hunger relief efforts at the Augusta campus.

With each shift, roughly 30 volunteers are needed to help sort donated goods, pack family food boxes and prepare fresh produce and proteins for neighbors facing hunger.

These hands-on efforts directly families across 24 counties in Georgia and South Carolina.

Volunteers from Bank of America paid a visit to the Master’s Table Soup Kitchen and planted fresh crops at the urban farm.

To meet the growing need, they’ve added new volunteer shifts, now including Friday afternoons and a special weekend opportunity on May 10.

These are in addition to regular weekday morning and afternoon shifts.
