AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Holocaust Remembrance Day was honored at the ADAS Yeshurun Synagogue Thursday in Augusta.

The Holocaust Memorial Program was hosted by the Jewish Community Center and Federation of Augusta, honoring the six million jews killed in World War II with memorials, music and a presentation from the son and grandson of Holocaust survivors from .

We heard from the rabbi about how painful yet powerful this day is.

“It’s powerful, you can hardly speak with a Jewish person that does not have relatives who suffered during the holocaust, my family did, and it’s something we can never forget,” said Rabbi David Sirull, ADAS Yeshurun.
