NEW YORK (Gray Media) - A federal judge began the process of selecting a jury in the case involving music mogul Sean “P Diddy” Combs in New York Monday.

One by one, the judge tried to narrow down prospective jurors by asking them questions surrounding a unique case involving a high-profile defendant with international fame and subject matter that may hit too close to home for some to continue in the process.

Diddy is facing life in prison after federal prosecutors alleged he was engaged in a criminal enterprise to force victims into sex acts at his infamous parties. Prosecutors also allege arson, kidnapping, obstruction of justice, and more. The music mogul maintains his innocence, rejecting a plea deal before the trial, indicating his willingness to face a jury that will consider racketeering and sex trafficking charges that could put him behind bars forever.

Jury selection is expected to take around three days this week considering the defendant and subject matter. Opening arguments are slated to begin on March 12.
