No. 1 Harlem faces No. 8 Pickens in baseball quarterfinals
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Harlem baseball is that much closer to their chance at a 3-peat, but under Jimmy Lewis’ charge, they’re not letting the future get too ahead of them.
They’re used to being at this stage of the playoffs as they’ve played in the third round every year since 2019, outside of 2020.
To beat the number 8 seed, however, Lewis said they need to play good defense and have timely hits.
That loss in game two from last week that forced a third is in the rear-view mirror, but it was a good reminder.
“When we got beat last week, that kind of got all this undefeated mess out of the way and the pressure and everybody talking about undefeated,” said Lewis. “Nobody cares about undefeated. We need to win these two games. Our crowd realizes that. It’s two out of three, and it’s win or go on and lose or go home.
