Thomson man dies in apartment fire on Mesena Road

THOMSON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A 39-year-old man has died after an apartment fire on Friday morning, according to the McDuffie County Coroner’s Office.
The coroner’s office says Ernest Lewis Jr., of Thomson, as been identified as the victim.
Family of missing Richmond County man still looking for closure
After two years, the family of missing man Bruce Barker is still searching for answers regarding what happened to him.
According to officials, first responders received a call for reports of a structure fire on 1100 block of Mesena Road at 3:13 a.m.
Lewis was taken to Piedmont McDuffie emergency room, where he was pronounced deceased at 4:15 a.m. Friday, according to the coroner’s office.
An autopsy has been scheduled.
