National Police Week carries special significance this year in CSRA

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Sunday is the start of National Police Week, and Thursday is Peace Officers Memorial Day.
It’s coming during a time when our community is still mourning a life lost in the line of duty.
Deputy Brandon Sikes was killed during a traffic stop two weeks ago.
Deputy Gavin White was injured during the traffic stop but is recovering at home.
