2 people hospitalized after shooting in Batesburg-Leesville
BATESBURG-LEESVILLE, S.C. - Batesburg-Leesville police are investigating a shooting that left two people injured Saturday afternoon.
Batesburg-Leesville Police Chief Darren Amick said a call came in around 2:20 p.m. regarding a shooting at the Creek View Apartments on Willis Street.
Stalking charge added against suspect in Aiken attack
Authorities have again arrested a man accused of chasing down and attacking a hospice worker in an incident that was caught on video.

According to Amick, two victims, a man and a woman, were injured in the shooting and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police confirmed the woman has already been released from the hospital.
Amick added that the shooting didn’t have anything to do with the Poultry Festival, which is drawing large crowds on the other side of town.
‘Suspicious’ inmate death under investigation at South Carolina prison
Authorities say Leo Jermaine Cheeks, an inmate at Lee Correctional Institution, died in the facility. Cheeks was found unresponsive in his cell.

Authorities said officers have identified a person of interest, however, no arrests have been made at this time.
