AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Thousands of children in Georgia don’t have a family to call their own.

News 12 has begun a partnership with the nonprofit Grant Me Hope, which works to find homes for older children in the foster care system.

Today, we want to introduce you to two teenage brothers who are looking for a family that will accept and both of them.

“My name is Joshua and I’m 16 years old.”

“My name is Garrett and I’m 14.”

“I like golf and tennis. And I also like to look presentable when I go out in public because no one likes to see someone who is raggedy. And I like to read books, um, play video games, and I like dogs and cats.

I like video games a lot,” said Joshua. “I love AI.”

“I was thinking of probably going to the military or probably getting a good-paying job, like welding,” said Garrett. “I’ve always been good with my hands since I was younger. I used to put puzzles together, memorize them. It’s pretty nice being able to use your hands for something.”

“The reason I want to get adopted together is because I don’t want him to be alone,” said Garrett. “I want him to get to experience what it’s like to have a brother that actually cares for him and someone that actually wants to joke around. Sometimes I’ll argue with him, but most of the time we get along with each other. When we do have time together, we play jokes. Sometimes, you know, we would just be in our own world, talking about other things that we didn’t even know about each other.”

“One time, my brother used to like to play on a trampoline. Sometimes he used to trip on a trampoline and fall flat on his back or front. Yeah, it used to be very hilarious when he did it. One time, um, when he fell, I started laughing and he got off the trampoline and started chasing me around the yard,” said Garrett.

“The coolest characteristic about my brother is his imagination. It’s pretty vivid. I’ve never thought someone could think like him, like he can. He’s ive and I like him for it. We are looking to be adopted together,” said Garrett.
