S.C. attorney general backs ‘Take It Down Act’ signed by Trump
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson was among those showing for a new bill signed by President Donald Trump on Monday.
The bill ed both Congressional chambers earlier this year, notably landing on Trump’s desk after a near-unanimous vote in the House of Representatives.
S.C. enforces seatbelt laws with ‘Buckle Up’ campaign
Nearly one out of every two people in fatal crashes in the state was not wearing a seatbelt last year during the "100 Deadly Days of Summer."

The law specifically makes it a federal crime to “knowingly publish” or threaten to publish intimate images without a person’s consent, including AI-created “deepfakes.”
“No one should have to live in fear of their most private moments being weaponized against them,” Wilson said in a statement. “Revenge porn is a cruel and deeply violating crime, and for too long, the law has lagged behind the technology. Today, with President Trump’s leadership, we’re now bringing that fight to the national stage, by standing up for survivors, holding predators able, and making it absolutely clear: digital abuse is real abuse, and it will be met with real consequences.”
Wilson’s office said the attorney general attended Monday’s bill g in Washington.

SOUTH CAROLINA’S LAW
South Carolina took similar action against “revenge porn” earlier this year, ing its own law that was later signed by Gov. Henry McMaster. It went into effect on May 12.
The state’s law created a criminal charge for “intentionally disseminating intimate images or digitally forged intimate images without effective consent.”
“We’ve led the charge here at home,” said Wilson. “Now, with the TAKE IT DOWN Act, we’re ing forces with President Trump to hold predators able nationwide. This sends a clear message: if you exploit someone online, you will face justice.”
