Graduates across the CSRA walk across the stage this week

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Students at the Academy of Richmond County and Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School graduated on Wednesday.

ARC’s assistant principal says graduation is his favorite time of year.

“It’s always good when the young men are together. They worked hard for their accomplishments, and now they are being celebrated for it. I love graduation and I’m so happy for the 2025 graduates of ARC. You guys worked really hard, so I’m very proud of them,” said Dr. Courtney Flounoy, assistant principal at ARC.

One student shared with us their plans for after graduation.

“It’s just the beginning, I’m going to finish my semester off at East Georgia, and for my four-year college, I’m planning on attending Kennesaw State to become an obgyn, but I’m planning on starting in East Georgia,” said Makyah Brooks.

Aiken County Career and Technology Center graduates are walking away with industry credentials and certifications in various trades.

Graduates at Aiken County Career and Technology Center walked across the stage on Wednesday.

Superintendent Dr. Corey Murphy says they are set for success.

“You leave here today with more than a certificate. You leave with a skill set, a mindset, and a head start on your future,” said Murphy.

The center is one of the first four trade and industrial schools in South Carolina.

Cross Creek High School graduates walked across the stage on Thursday.

The ceremony was held at the Bell Auditorium.

On Thursday evening, graduates of Glenn Hills High School turned their tassels.

Graduates at Academy of Richmond County, Davidson Fine Arts and Aiken County Career and Technology Center walked across the stage on Wednesday.

“Long time coming. Even though I made a lot of failures along the way, I still made my way here. I built myself up. A lot of people built me to be here, that’s why I’m here,” said Robert Taylor, graduate.

”It’s so exciting to graduate, so exhilarating. I just love the feeling, I just feel like I’m unstoppable at this point. I’ve done graduated, like what else?” said Miracle Smith, graduate.

On Friday, Allendale-Fairfax High graduates took their final walk in their high school journey.

It was a tough ending to the school year after they lost one of their own - Andrey Gadson - to a senseless shooting nearly two weeks ago.

One of the graduates took a moment to recognize him.

Also on Friday, caps were in the air as graduates of North Augusta high take on the next level of life.

They received their diplomas hours ago as well.
