Man accused of sexually assaulting woman during seizure

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - An Augusta man has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman during a medical emergency, according to authorities.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says 42-year-old Christopher Quinn Winstead was arrested on May 15.

The sheriff’s office says the assault happened on May 14 when the victim said Winstead raped her during a seizure.

Woman sentenced for 2023 crash that killed man in Columbia County

A Thomson woman has been sentenced in the 2023 crash that left an 82-year-old man dead in Columbia County, according to authorities.

According to the incident report, the victim told deputies she tried messaging Winstead to help her due to her feeling the symptoms of a seizure.

The victim stated she was in her vehicle in front of Winstead’s home when the assault happened, according to deputies.

The report states the victim blacked out. When she woke up, she realized Winstead had assaulted her.

2nd suspect arrested in deadly shooting at Augusta apartments

A second suspect has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting at an Augusta apartment complex last week.

The victim told deputies that she tried to turn and get away, but when Winstead stopped, he forced her to take a shower, according to the report.

The report states the victim told Winstead previously in text messages that she did not want to have sex.

Winstead is facing charges of rape, aggravated sodomy and kidnapping, according to jail bookings.
