AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) A woman remains hospitalized Friday after an accident involving a motorcycle on Wheeler Road and Interstate Parkway.

Richmond County deputies say 27-year-old Morgan Gray was hit while turning onto Interstate Parkway when she crashed.

Authorities say the driver of the car failed to yield while turning left.

The incident is being investigated as a hit-and-run, according to officials.

Family and friends say they’re calling for justice as she continues to recover.

“We just want answers. It’s been over a week,” said Summer Ivey and Dalton Taylor, Gray’s cousin and friend. “We’re Morgan strong. We love her.”

A love so strong, it’s turned strangers into family

“I’ve met more of her family than she’s ever talked about, just being here,” said Alisha Hayes and James Minton, Gray’s Friends.

Blood or not, it doesn’t matter to Morgan Gray.

“Her friends, they’re not just friends, they’re family. She’s made sure to let you know that you’re family, no matter what. You could be a bystander standing there. She’s gonna talk to you,” said Ivey and Taylor.

Now, her family hopes for one more conversation with Morgan.

“We’ve all stood here every day, every night, and we have prayed for her, and that’s all we’re gonna keep doing. And we’re just gonna keep getting louder with this,” said Ivey and Taylor.

Because that’s what family is for.

This isn’t a, we get out here and do this ‘cause we want to be. We wanna be loud and obnoxious. We do this ‘cause this is something that we love and we care about,” said Mikey Ruiz and Brandon Angel, Gray’s friends.

It’s also a fight for justice.

I don’t think there’s anything worse than running up and seeing somebody that you care about lying in the middle of the road, and you can’t do anything about it,” said Ruiz and Angel.

They want answers, but most importantly, they want Gray to come home.

“If it was one of us, she would not leave. She would stay just like the rest of us. So that’s what we’re gonna do for her, because at the end of the day, we will always be Morgan Strong regardless of the outcome,” said Hayes and Minton.

Her family asks that if you know anything, to call the Richmond County Sheriff’s office as they continue fighting for answers.

Her loved ones gathered at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Food Lion on South Belair Road to ride in her honor.

“Tonight, we’re running for we’re Morgan strong and we stick together. We’re one big family. We want to get the word out that we want justice because she deserves justice. There is nothing that we’re going to stop at any end for her, and that’s what we’re doing,” said Ivey.

“We want to be heard. That’s what all of this is about is getting our voice out. Because we are her voice right now,” said Brianna Jeter, Gray’s friend. “And everybody’s continuing to show up, showing their , being there for her because we are more than strong. She makes us stand. She makes us stronger.”

Her family is asking that one with information call the Richmond County Sheriff’s office.
