12 On Your Side Investigates: Crime in downtown Augusta – what the numbers show
Safety in downtown Augusta has been a hot-button issue spanning multiple law enforcement istrations.

“This conviction could not have been possible without two teams of DA Investigators, who spent their Memorial Day making a 16-hour round trip to Tennessee to transport witnesses, and then another team to do the same long haul on Thursday,” Williams said in a press release.
Walker has a violent past and has been in and out of jail and prison for years, according to his criminal record.
His offenses include firing a gun into a car back in 1999, firing a gun into a house in 2004, and hitting someone in the head with a gun in 2012.
He was also convicted of simple battery in 2001 for hitting and kicking a woman.
He has violated his probation and has been arrested for that, too.
That’s all in addition to that active warrant from 2019 where he’s accused of shooting someone and now this new murder charge.
