Driver laughs at being told he’s 3x over legal alcohol limit, police say
HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (WFIE/Gray News) - Police in Kentucky said a driver was caught driving under the influence of alcohol over the weekend.
Officers with the Madisonville Police Department said they were on the lookout for a speeding driver when they spotted the driver’s vehicle parked at a gas station on National Mine Drive.
The officers said they then saw 22-year-old Berlin Martinez get into the car and drive off.

Martinez stopped in the middle of an intersection, and officers said they had seen him driving all over the road.
When police pulled him over, they said Martinez told them he did not speak any English.
Police tested his blood alcohol level, finding that he had a level of .236, which is three times the legal limit.
Police say he seemed to understand what they were saying. On the way to the cruiser, they said they heard Martinez say, “God d*mn” in perfect English.
When he was told he was more than three times the legal limit, officers say Martinez laughed.
Martinez was placed in jail on a $1,000 bond.
