Grant Me Hope: Meet 11-year-old Zillah
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Thousands of children in Georgia don’t have a family to call their own.
News 12 has begun a partnership with the nonprofit Grant Me Hope, which works to find homes for older children in the foster care system.
Today, we want to introduce you to 11-year-old Zillah, a young lady who loves to read and aspires to be a chef one day.
Zillah is looking for a family to her as she works towards her dreams.
“My favorite color is lavender. My favorite food is pasta. My favorite time of the year is Christmas. It’s about giving, and it’s about Jesus,” said Zillah. “My favorite kind of music is hip hop music and stuff. And, uh, well, I sometimes listen to country music. My favorite superhero is Thor. If I had one superpower, it would be teleportation.”
If Zillah could travel anywhere, she says it would be Los Angeles.

“I like reading action books because they’re interesting. Subjects I like in school are reading, science, and art,” said Zillah.
Zillah says being loyal and honest is what makes someone a good friend.
“I’m more of a city person because the city is noisy, and it kind of might help me sleep at night,” she said.
“I want to be adopted because I want to be in a family that really cares about me,” said Zillah. “I would like to live, have actual dogs and a nice house and a lot of siblings, and two parents with a mom and a dad.”
