Ossoff wants to hear from families about military housing problems

AUGUSTA, Ga. - In 2022, Sen. Jon Ossoff’s bipartisan investigation highlighted the mistreatment of military families living in privatized housing on Fort Eisenhower, as reported by News 12 for a decade.

Now, Ossoff wants to hear directly from Georgia military families about the condition of privatized housing on defense installations across Georgia. Georgia Military families can share their experiences on Ossoff’s website..

In recent years, local reporting found Georgia military families have continued to raise concerns about privatized military housing conditions on installations.

News 12 has highlighted problems with Balfour Beatty, the family housing provider at Fort Eisenhower.

“I want to fight for you and hold these companies able if they’re letting you down,” Ossoff says in a new public service announcement. “You make huge sacrifices in defense of our nation, and you shouldn’t have to sacrifice a safe, clean, healthy home for you and your family or the quality of customer service and tenants’ service that you deserve.”

The issues include mold, electrical and gas issues, pest problems and leaking sewage.
