LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT/Gray News) - A Kentucky girl and her teacher got the surprise of a lifetime from famous songwriter Jelly Roll last week.

Pulaski Elementary School teacher Courtney Jones gifted her student, Jaylee Huddleston, an end-of-year surprise.

The teacher bought tickets to the Railbird Festival so the two could see country music star Jelly Roll.

When Jelly Roll heard about their story, he invited both of them backstage for a meet and greet.

The musician gave Jaylee a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

The four-time Grammy-nominated artist even autographed his set list and a hat he gave to the soon-to-be middle schooler.

“She was just living her best life, and I was just along for the ride,” Jones said.

It was a night the two of them will never forget.

“Just knowing that she got to do something that no one thought she’d be able to do, so that will always be one of my favorite days,” Jones said.

Jones said Jelly Roll prayed for Jaylee backstage as well.

Jaylee was so popular that day that even concertgoers were taking pictures with her.
