AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A judge has temporarily halted the Trump istration’s efforts to eliminate the Job Corps program.

According to Reuters, U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter issued a temporary restraining order on Wednesday in response to a lawsuit filed by a trade group that operates Job Corps centers.

The judge also ordered the U.S. Department of Labor to appear at a court hearing on June 17.

The lawsuit alleges the department is violating federal law and regulations by abruptly shutting down the program.
