Ryan Piers

Ryan ed Local News Live as one of the network's inaugural anchors in December, 2020. He's helped LNL grow to its current form, operating out of Washington, D.C. and airing on the digital platforms of 113 Gray TV stations across the country. 286y1f

Prior to ing Gray TV, Ryan anchored national newscasts for the NBC News Radio Network in the nation's capital. He began his career in his hometown of Peoria, IL., where he covered the biggest, local stories for five years on TV and radio.

Ryan is a graduate of North Central College in Naperville, IL., where he traveled to Africa to study international journalism while earning a broadcasting degree. Ryan then picked up master's degree in political science from Eastern Illinois University.

A big sports fan, Ryan sometimes moonlights as a play-by-play broadcaster and enjoys telling stories from the press box much like he does behind the anchor desk. You can also find him at the premier of the newest horror movie and in the mosh pit of the local punk concert.
