Aiken County homeowner fires on suspects; deputies looking for men involved

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Deputies are looking for two men in a burglary in Aiken County where a homeowner fired shots at the suspects.

According to the report, the incident happened around 8:40 a.m. at 437 Cobblestone Road, where a homeowner reported he fire shots at suspects that were breaking into and stealing his property. Each suspect was carrying a duffel bag.

As authorities surrounded the scene, the homeowner said he fired at the suspects who then ran to their vehicles. TOne vehicle got stuck and the suspects fleed on food.

Later in the morning, authorities said three suspects were involved. One, James Franklin Fink Jr., was found in a swamp near Whispering Pines Rd and was taken to the hospital for a gunshot wound to the hand.

Investigators have now identified Alister Keith Wingard, 32, and Brandon Lee Hall, 23, of Batesburg, SC as additional suspects. Warrants have been obtained for their arrest.
